The first session of the Russian branch of SDSN (Sustainable Development Solutions Network) took place at the Gaidar Forum 2017 in the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA). This network includes organizations that have been authorized by UN to promote to sustainable development of the world. At the meeting the CEO of Russian Carbon Fund Alexey Shadrin presented the results of the Fund's five years' work and its plans for the Year of ecology.
SDSN was created in 2012 as an initiative of UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. The association aims to mobilize scientific and technical potential of academic circles, civic society and private sector to solve the problems of transition to sustainable development at local, national and global levels. Today, national divisions of SDSN operate in more than 80 countries and unite more than 500 organizations. The work of the Russian branch of SDSN is coordinated by RANEPA. Russian Carbon Fund joined the network in 2016.
